Hey everyone. Thought some of you may find these items interesting...

 

Test Center

Update Headlines!

 

* Two new quests added! "Catch a Falling Star" and "Nagem's Jobs".

* Chapter 4 of "Secrets of the Syren" is now live!

* Lighting on all worlds has been updated to be brighter.

 

Known Issues with this Test Center Version

 

* Catch a Fallen Star: NPC Smugglers are not spawning at -6796 -2210 Yavin IV. S7 branch

* Fallen Star Quest: On the last part of the quest once you escort the cargo ship and it hyper spaces away, your journal does not update so when you talk to Osae again she thinks you have not completed the quest.

* Secrets of the Syren part 4: Player gets stuck in the estate after conversing with Tierce Martano

* Creature Handler: Pets do not follow any command anymore (new & existing pets)

* StoryArc4 quest: NPC Officer M'kae: The NPC does not give the reward of 5000 credits, 500 Imperial Faction points, and a Spec Ops Bola Carbine on completing the quest.

 

Bazaar / Vendor

 

* Resource containers for sale on bazaar terminals or vendors should now display the name of the resource and the quantity from their item description. For example, "Domesticated Corn" should now be displayed as "Domesticated Corn Lodi (200)".

 

Badges

 

* During the Token Respec Period, players will now be granted Master Badges.

 

Character

 

* Changing your character's profession title on the Community Window (CTRL-P) will now cause the title for your character to be displayed immediately.

* Personal Light (CTRL-L): Made the player's personal light default to always be turned off, rather than turning it on/off with the day/night cycle. Players can still turn their personal light on or off as normal.

 

Client

 

* Older ATI cards prompted the SwgClientSetup to suggest a URL which no longer exists. The URL has been updated.

 

Combat

 

* Adjusted combat haste bonuses from Doctor & Jedi buffs due to high haste numbers unbalancing combat.

 

Crafting

 

* During the experimentation phase of crafting, the object being crafted will now update its properties in a reasonable amount of time. Previously this took approximately 10 to 15 seconds and would make it appear as if your experimentation had no effect on the object.

* When the item count of a resource container changes, the examine information should change as well. The examine information for crafted objects and containers should update properly in the appropriate crafting windows.

* When using items in resource containers or surveying, the item count of the container should update properly if you changed servers or disconnected.

 

Force Village : Phase 4: Captain Sarguillo's Quests

 

* Increased the spawning frequency of the Sith Shadow Pirates to make the Village Assault! (Ranged Speed / Melee Defense) quest easier to complete.

 

Grouping

 

* Added a new way to calculate group experience point (XP) bonuses. Experience Points (XP) are now divided by the total number of people in your group with an additional bonus for being grouped with other players. We will be testing out the group experience and currently group XP is set lower then we expect it to be set at.

 

Player Event Perks

 

* Many static Event Perks rentals such as flags and banners have had their placement restrictions dramatically reduced to allow much more flexibility when decorating for events.

* All Event Perk rental venues now include a Venue Remote Control that allows its owner to re-deed the venue and check its time until expiration.

* The Capture the Flag game will no longer allow an attempted flag capture if you are under the influence of Force Cloak, Cover, Feign Death, Paralyze and Stasis.

* Event Perk rental expiration timer now begins when the rental deed is used, rather then at the time of purchase to allow event planners more flexibility in setting up their events.

* Event Perk rentals now expire in 16 hours, rather then 8 in order to allow event planners more flexibility in setting up their events.

 

Profession: Bounty Hunter

 

* Significantly altered NPC Bounty Missions NPC's and Loot. The higher the level of the Bounty Hunter increases the chance of seeing a higher level or Elite Mark. Master Bounty Hunters who are also greater than level 75 will have a small chance to draw a Boss Mark. The difficulty of the Mark will determine the quality of loot and chance of the loot to drop.

* Increased the amount of Bounty droids in crates.

* Increased the amount of charges on Bounty droids.

* The Track option on Seeker droids will now consume a droid charge.

 

Profession: Doctor

 

* Adjusted Doctor buff durations to improve the usefulness of Doctors in groups.

* Doctors should now have full accuracy certifications on Battle armor.

 

Profession: Scouts and Rangers

 

* Grey-con (considered) mobs will no longer break scentMask or camo kits.

* Lower-level creatures that break scent-mask or camo kits, will only attack from the same distance as they would have had the player not been concealed (rather than attacking immediately).

 

Profession: Shipwright

 

* A KSE Firespray Schematic can no longer be used to reverse-engineer a zero-mass spaceship component. When a player's ship is launched, if there are any zero-mass components, their mass will default to a value of 50,000.

 

Profession: Tailor

 

* When crafting clothing items, only valid color palette choices will be displayed during crafting.

 

Quests

 

* Two new quests added! "Catch a Falling Star" and "Nagem's Jobs".

* Catch a Fallen Star: On Yavin IV the Rebels are fighting a desperate delaying action as they attempt to get their last elements off the planet. In the midst of this chaotic fighting, both the Rebels and Imperials are salvaging as much of the fallen Death Star as they can. Of course some undesirable elements have moved in to take advantage of the situation. Criminals, both great and small, have started their own operations to salvage as much as they can, and then to sell what they get to the highest bidder.

* Nagem's Jobs: Nagem Dr'Lar has been hired by the Imperials as a civilian contractor to salvage as much of the Death Star as possible around an area known as the Scorch. He has been fighting off criminal groups trying to get to the salvage before he can.

* Chapter 4 of the quest series, "Secrets of the Syren" is now live! Questgivers from "Secrets of the Syren" chapter's 1-3 will now give quests for chapter 4 as well as the previous chapters (1-3).

* The lockbox on the Avatar Platform should no longer spawn inside the wall.

* Added loot to the checkpoint lockbox on the Avatar platform.

* Mos Eisley quests should give all badges properly

 

UI

 

* Brightness, Contrast, and Gamma now default to 1.0. Because of the world lighting changes, these settings have been defaulted to 1.0 to account for any Brightness, Contrast, and Gamma changes previously made. To readjust any of these settings, open your Options window (CTRL-O) and click the Graphics button on the left side of the window.

* Rotary timers no longer seem to "pause" for an extended period of time

* Reptilian Meat is once again named Reptilian Meat.

* Grenades now have rotary timers and display their status in the combat queue.

* Enhancer items now have rotary timers.

* Stimulant Packs (stimpacks) items now have rotary timers.

* Vehicle control devices in the toolbar now have rotary timers.

* Added 1 new music and 1 dance icons. These new icons are available in the Command Browser (CTRL-A).

* Added 6 icons for new entertainer abilities. These new icons are available in the Command Browser (CTRL-A).

* Added Rage and Anger icons.

* Some fungi, particularly Kasyyykian, Rori, Talusian, Tatooinian, and Yavinian will now properly display their names with no codestrings.

* Jedi defender role icon no longer appears where it's not intended.

* In-game references to the /find directional path "yellow ribbon" now refer it as the "glowing path".

 

Vehicles

 

* Players can no longer offer rides to other players if they are driving a multi-passenger vehicle. Instead, qualified players can simply 'enter/exit' the vehicle through the radial menu.

 

A character is allowed to ride with someone:

 

1. There is room in the vehicle.

 

2. If they are in the same group.

 

3. If they are not in combat

 

4. If they are not in an opposing faction

 

5. If they do not have a TemporaryEnemyFlag (TEF)

 

6. If they are factionally overt,then the driver must also be factionally overt.

 

Note: A declared faction player can only ride in another player's vehicle if that rider is also factioned declared, and for a friendly faction. If the driver manages to go from faction declared to covert, any declared factional riders will be ejected.

 

* When in a vehicle, the offer ride menu should only be displayed when the selected person is in the same group as you.

* Increased the volume of BARC Speeder sounds.

 

Veteran Rewards

 

* Added new display case for veteran miniatures (9 month milestone).

* Added fireplace (24 month milestone)

 

World

 

* The lighting for Star Wars Galaxies TM has been improved to be brighter, especially in dark areas, dusk, dawn and darker planets. As part of these changes, the Brightness, Contrast, and Gamma settings have been default to 1.0 so that the changes are properly displayed. To readjust any of these settings, open your Options window (CTRL-O). Also as part of these changes, Personal Lights for players have been readjusted so they will no longer turn on and off for the day night cycles. Players can still turn it on or off as normal.

* Optimizations to the terrain system have been made to improve performance and lower memory usage.

* Players will no longer be prevented from attacking (or being attacked by) targets throughout Level 5 of the Rryatt Trail on Kashyyyk due to invisible obstruction.

* Meatlumps and Vandals in Coronet should spawn properly.

Hmm not sure I like the idea of the new vehicle rules for giving rides.

 

 

Say I go out hunting with 5 people

2 are SF Rebel

1 is Imp

1 is neutral

and I am combatant

 

We won't all be able to ride in the same vehicle then?

So what do we all think about this? Guess all those multipassenger vehicles will be empty now. I can't tell you how many times I've been in a group with both SF and Combatant people.

 

The Ryatt trail thing is a good fix imho.

 

Little bit worried about the doc/jedi fix for combat haste.

 

REALLY worried about the new group xp calculation. Many are speculating that since Jedi no longer gain vis in groups, they are nerfing the xp found in groups. Of course, this effects many more than just Jedi. Lets hope its just a rumor.

Yeah that sounds like it's going to be especially annoying.

 

But hey maybe the lighting will be nice now :)

ya the rest of that stuff is easily worked around.... but the xp calculation was something i kind of saw coming from afar, and is the hardest hit in the annual NERF train...luckily we got some time enjoying that while it lasted

 

The speed/haste buffs for doc and jedi will make some ppl quit the game tho im sure, tho that can be worked around as well.

just out of curiosity (i know i know it killed the cat :P ) with this xp nerf if say you were in a group of 8 people and you go and say kill a kryt dragon all together, and say every one got 5000 points of xp with the new system that means you only get 625 right? well if theres 8 of you and you all get 625xp from every one than in that case your still geting the 5k xp? its just broken up into smaler segments?

well anyway thats just my thought and as mavryk can be witness to...my maths skills are works than a see slugs :lol: /shrug well i dunno thats how i look at it anyway ;)

Grouping

 

    * Added a new way to calculate group experience point (XP) bonuses. Experience Points (XP) are now divided by the total number of people in your group with an additional bonus for being grouped with other players. AI

*When a creature or NPC is attacked by multiple players and then exits combat after deathblowing one of the players, the new behavior allows the AI to continue combat with all attacking players, even after deathblowing one of the players.

 

Avatar

*Player light (CTRL-L) now extends further into building interiors

 

 

Combat

*Elemental damage will now be applied to a target for weapons that have bonus elemental damage.

*Moves requiring cool-down (ex. overcharge shot) should work properly if you have recently been moving. Previously, players could not execute certain commands right after moving, as if the system erroneously thought you were still moving.

 

Crafting

*Crafters will no longer erroneously receive use-XP.

 

Force Village

*Players who have completed Captain Sarguillo's quest to unlock Range Speed or Melee Defense but were not granted the quest rewards should be granted their rewards when logging in.

*Phase 2, Melee Speed: The Durable Lathe quest reward item is once again usable as a melee weapon power-up.

*Phase 3: Melee Accuracy Quest: The Sith Shadow commander will now run and can negotiate steep terrain more effectively.

*You should now be able to convert entertainer experience to Force sensitive experience.

*Corrected typo in Force-sensitive experience conversion text.

 

Galactic Civil War (GCW)

*Force Cloaked Jedi will take damage from turret attacks.

 

House Pack-up

*New Feature: The owner of a player house may choose to "pack-up" the structure and all its contents into a house control device. This control device is stored in the player's data pad (CTRL-D). The option to pack up the house is available on the structure's control terminal. You can access the structure's control terminal by using the radial menu.

*Once the house is packed up, a player can interact with the house in a limited fashion via the house control device in the data pad. The player has 3 options available:

 

1. Check Status: This is identical to the check status available inside of the placed house. It allows a player to see the number of items stored in the house as well as the current maintenance situation on the house.

2. Pay Maintenance: This is identical to the functionality of the same name on a placed house. It allows the player to make maintenance payments for the structure.

3. Unpack house: This feature will cause the house to go into the placement mode. This works the same way as placing a house from a deed. All placement rules are followed.

** Note: Houses with vendors inside can not be packed. The vendors must first be removed before a house can be packed.

 

** Note: Only player houses may be packed up.

 

When a house is packed up:

 

*The waypoint to the packed up house is removed.

*If a player's city residency was declared with the packed up house, the residency is reset.

*If a player was a citizen of a city with the packed up house, that citizenship is revoked.

 

Inventory

*Auto-stacking items will no longer stack to items in a different container than the one they are being moved into.

 

Loot

*Resources will more often be found as loot in dungeons.

*Resources found as loot in dungeons will no longer always be in a quantity of 1.

*Resources found as loot (or harvested) will no longer be divided into multiple containers if the quantity exceeds 100.

 

Misc.

*Players should be able to execute certain commands right after moving. For example: dancing, singing, placing harvesters, placing houses, etc. Previously, players could not execute certain commands right after moving, as if the system erroneously thought you were still moving.

 

Player Associations

*If your guild is currently in a guild war with another guild and after you clone, you will incur a 5 minute guild war "cool down" period during which you cannot engage in guild war combat (attack or be attacked). This rule affects guild war PvP only. All other PvP rules are still in effect.

 

Profession: Bounty Hunter

*Only Master Bounty Hunters will be able to draw Boss level Marks.

*Increased the amount of bounty droids in crates.

*Increased the amount of charges on bounty droids.

*The Track option on Seeker droids will now consume a droid charge.

Profession: Creature Handler

*Pets now properly use their speed enhancing abilities.

*On Test Center , Triggered L1 Pet Abilities should now work properly.

*Removed the ability to have Elite or Boss class pets. Pets will automatically return to their standard statistics for their given level.

*Changed all Elite tamable creatures to non-Elite.

 

Profession: Dancer, Entertainer, Musician

*Entertainer professions will now be able to apply non-combat profession specific inspiration buffs.

*Inspiration buffs should now give the proper bonus to crafting experience.

*Typing /flo will once again expand to the /flourish command.

*Fire Jets 2 and Bunduki 2 icons should display correctly now.

*Twi'leks should no longer have unused innate skill modifiers.

*The Dance Floor command has been renamed to Floor Lights (/floorLights) to avoid conflicts with the /dance emote.

*Entertainer experience should now use the proper XP point limits.

*Inspiration Buffs should now properly use an entertainer's Music or Dance Enhancement skill modifiers.

*Music Wound Healing and Dance Wound Healing skill mod tapes should convert to Music and Dance Enhancement respectively.

*Test Center - Profession: Dancer, Entertainer, Musician - Adding entertainer enhancement bonus when performing in an entertainer specialized city.

*Test Center - Dance props will now be unequipped if you revoke a skill and are no longer certified to use them.

 

Profession: Jedi

*Changed the way the Padawan Robe functions are displayed. It is now displayed as a buff effect.

 

Profession: Ranger/Scout

*Phecnacine Darts will no longer cause creatures AI to turn off

 

Profession: Smuggler

*Auto-stacking looted items such as Smuggler slicing components can now be split and restacked with the 'Split' and 'Stack' radial menu options.

*Old smuggler slicing components which previously did not stack will become stackable will re-stacked with new smuggler slicing components

 

Quests

*Some quests may now be abandoned using the Quest Journal. In the future, additional quests may be abandoned using this feature.

*Secrets of the Syren quest givers should now give the chapter 3 quests.

*Secrets of the Syren quest, chapter 4 should be able to be completed.

*Lady Valarian's Quest Series: Kavas Urdano has temporarily stopped giving out her first quest if you have never spoken to her before.

 

Space

*Female pilots which should have received their ace medals will be granted a medal for each master pilot badge they have acquired when they login.

*Non-Ithorian female pilots will now properly be awarded their ace pilot medals.

*Pilots will no longer be awarded multiple ace pilot medals.

*Players are now able to access components in ships in their datapad that are not the same space faction as their current space faction.

 

User Interface

*You can now detach, attach, rename, delete, and reset chat window tabs. The chat window settings are saved properly.

*Flytext should always be visible inside buildings now.

You should no longer get a 'listen' or 'watch' option on an entertainer's radial menu if you are already listening to or watching them.

T*he glare that results from looking directly at the sun has been substantially reduced, and there is now an option to turn it off under Options->Graphics->Enable Glare.

*The command browser (CTRL-A) should no longer contain a code string.

*Added a de-buff which is applied when you have been Dazed to prevent the instant re-application of Daze.

 

Vehicles

All vehicles, jetpacks and restoration:

 

*Restoring a disabled vehicle will now require a vehicle restoration kit (formerly "the BARC speeder repair tool").

*The BARC speeder repair tool is now a general-purpose vehicle restoration kit which can be used to restore any disabled vehicle.

*Vehicles can no longer be restored at parking garages without a vehicle restoration kit.

*The Flash speeder may still be restored for 20,000 credits (no change).

*The vehicle restoration kit is now a stackable item.

 

Japan

*When IME input is enabled, the IME Pad will not activate if you hit F5.

*You can now correctly type in Japanese in Mail.

*Resource category names are now localized.
