  1. @Yurizot yes the skunk was for skunkworks and I was also at SpaceX. I was at both as a 3rd party vendor. My new job let's me visit many different companies
  2. https://imgur.com/a/sCXiPGC Hmmmm, I think I'm lost better ask for directions
  3. I did end up getting the ASUS ROG Strix G17. Any good traveling accessories I should look for. Now I just need to figure out a mobile game setup.
  4. ASUS ROG Strix G17 (2023) 17.3” QHD 240Hz Gaming Laptop, Ryzen 9-7845HX, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060, 16GB DDR5 RAM, 1TB SSD, Windows 11, G713PV-WS94 https://www.walmart.com/ip/2103957626 That's not a bad price at 1399 in-store but should I be scared
  5. @Yva Xorna I love the for dummies books https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/1119601746/ref=dp_ob_neva_mobile That's the dummies book that I got. I'm thinking I want to make flash cards and maybe a reference list for commands like cin = user input from consoles and cout = print text in consoles type thing I can honestly say with what I do some of the programming will get very complicated Like having a 3 way switch on a remote control and depending on how the switch is set will have the machine function differently
  6. cout << "I think this C++ syntax is going to fry my brain!!!!!" << endl; I'm sure this is just like learning any other language just needs to be repetitive till it sticks
  7. Thanks @Kakon that site looks like it will be a great asset plus my C++ for dummies got delivered and it has a walk through for setting up code::block

    C++

    I'm starting the crazy journey to learn C++ or at least the basics. Currently skill level is zero So any help I could get from people with more knowledge then me would be greatly appreciated I know at some point with my job I may have to understand enough to troubleshoot something
  9. Was looking at a ROG G17 think it was a Strix version with a ryzen 9 and 16 gb of ram for 1,399
  10. I'm thinking under 2k but not set at that number for the right machine
  11. I was thinking about a System 76 laptop a few years ago and might look at them plus the ROG https://system76.com/laptops
  12. Lol not sure about laptops but I have built a few desktops with ROG boards and never had an issue with them. Was thinking about them .... would have done an original alienware before Dell bought them... not sure a Dell in a fancy wrapper is quite the same thing
  13. As the title says I'm looking for a Laptop for work/play and needs to be able to fit in a backpack / transportable as I could be jumping a plane at a moment's notice.( national and international) I have never been a fan of laptops so they are a little bit out of my area of expertise. What is a good brand? What should I look for? Who should I avoid like a plague? Any help to point me in the right direction is welcomed
  14. Wow the truth is painful but I love how he puts it...... I agree if you don't put in the time and effort don't expect much of a return..... or wait for lady luck to grant your wishes
  15. Hmmmm might have been fun to go but I'm pretty sure I won't be in California at that point of time
