Sounds good.
We are experiencing a delay in getting the starbase updated. When they released Season 6 they added new Fleet "permissions". When they did this it essentially locked me out of managing several fleet options to include selecting fleet missions to complete, managing some fleet bank options, and I can't even grant anyone access to transwarp to the starbase. I can't even get there... We have started to stockpile mats needed to complete the missions once I can activate them for the fleet. Feel free to join in and start gathering stuff up. So far we have only lost 3 players because of the delay.
There is also a new Fleet option (I have mixed feelings about) that if the Guild Leader does not log in every 30 days the next higher ranking "active" player will get an option to take charge of the Fleet. In essence they have removed "ownership" of fleets. The good thing about this is you can have more than one person at the Guild Leader Rank as I would NEVER want to replace Astrus or Shaw as our original/true Guild Leaders. Anyways, I should see this option pop-up around next weekend (Aug 3/4) as Astrus last logged in to STO on July 4th. I will then have full leadership (all available permissions) of the Fleet so I can grant out permissions and we can get things rolling on these starbase missions.

It has been a while and I hope everyone is doing well. I retired from the military last year and this year I was graced with a grandson. I'm only 44 darn it!!!
I'm still hardcore into RIFT and switched over to the defiant side on Deepwood (PvE). New world events, etc. keep me going there. I've also joined back into STO just recently and OMG is there a lot of nice new changes there and it is still PACKED with people playing! I couldn't believe it! When I logged on today there were 3 other fleet members playing. With that in mind, no one has seen an admin (Astrus or Shawkorr) login for the fleet. I was wondering if maybe Astrus or Shaw could login to STO once and grant me full fleet access so I can manage it. I'm willing to even rename it to honor the SoW shutdown. I just hate seeing all that stuff just sit there in the fleet bank and no one can access it (and some people still add to it). Otherwise in about a month or so (to give them time to login) I will probably abandon the fleet...sad times...

After 7 years of marriage I'm finally taking the wife on a week long honeymoon to New York City. We leave 1 July and will return 8 July. For those still playing Rift I will hopefully see you on the 9th.
Wretched - Since it doesn't appear that Spitscar SoW guild will be saved/renamed and moved to another server, we will have to maybe start our own or join the same one on Greenscale.

Spitscar is being turned into a Trial Server and all toons must transfer to another server SOON!
If we are to rename/save what's left of SoW on Spitscar, someone needs to gain admin rights to it and move it to another server. Otherwise all your/our hard work will be lost.

I will keep an eye out for you. Are you Guardian or Defiant on Greenscale? Oh, and if I didn't already say, my cleric is Rebeckah and the rogue I'm moving over is Lance.
When I move my rogue over I will have a level 50 Guardian Rogue and a soon-to-be level 41 Defiant Cleric. I think I will stick with the cleric for good. I was messing around for a little bit today and turned my PvP flag on in Scarwood Reach. I can up to a lone Guardian next to a Rift and so I engaged the rift and left him alone. He turned on his PvP flag (his mistake...lol) and tried attacking me while I was fighting. I took him and the Rift mobs out. He ran from me after that.
And another guild tried recruiting me again, but I'm doing the loner thing right now. I don't care for the unrequested guild invites UNLESS they tell me something about themselves at the same time. But when someone runs by you, sees you're not in a guild, shoots an invite, and keeps going - no thanks. Oh, and I ran into a real winner of a guild leader a couple of weeks ago. The guy comes up to me and starts talking. A nice little chat (I scope him out since his PvP flag is on, he's a guardian, and about 16 levels higher) and I'm thinking darn, if only I was a little closer in levels I would give it a shot. But then out of the blue he tells me he runs the largest guild on the server and says for some reason he can't shoot me a guild invite. Really? Dude, you run the largest guild and you don't recognize I'm a defiant and your a guardian? LOL - even if I was a guardian I wouldn't join your guild! LOL
Anyways, I hope your hand gets better soon.
And Gnume...there was another first on shard today for a level 42 blue leg armor piece. I was reading in the Rift Forums that Greenscale was not one of the head-start servers, so there were not a lot of people at the get-go racing up thru the levels and getting all those first-on-shard items. Maybe I will be lucky enough to still get one of the original items first.

I hooked up with an old friend from EQ...he is the guild leader of Honour Guard on Silkweb. They are a level 11 guild. Mostly a casual guild but they are starting to do GSB now and seem to have regular raids to do it.
As far as the Server Firsts...you sure those aren't simply related to the new Hammerknell Content?
This has all been happening before Hammerknell came out. I just don't think there are as many people on Greenscale so there is still plenty of content to be "discovered".
Hey Wretched - what's your toons name on Greenscale? I will keep an eye out for you.

Haven't had a chance to really play yet...but I will say, you can certainly tell a difference in the population! Sanctum is crawling with people! And, I think I may have found an old friend from my EQ/EQ2 days on this server. So I may have a guild soon :)
As far as transferring the guild...I don't think Shaw would be too keen on that...unless the name were able to be changed. But I concur that it is a shame to let a level 11 guild just vanish :( I am already transferred off Spitescar now anyway
I'm am looking at transferring my level 50 rogue from spitscar over to greenscale. I can say that so far the highest level guild I've found is only level 9. I also see those "..first on the shard..." notices popping up everytime I'm on there. From what I understand, greenscale is one of the last servers (or part of the last group of servers) to be added.
I am enjoying the PvE side of it and I queue up for PvP when I'm in the mood for it. Which is a nice change from getting ganked all the time on spitscar. I have run around with my PvP flag set on in scarlet gorge and I had a guardian try to take on my cleric tank. The mage lost...lol. So you can play both sides of the game on a PvE server which is right up my alley.
Well, best of luck and maybe I will join you on your server someday. I will keep checking the forums and watch to see what SoW does when the new Star Wars game is released.

Hi everyone! So I have some questions...
1. Gnume - How is Silkweb treating you? Have you run into any good people to hook-up with?
2. With SoW being terminated, has anyone thought about taking charge of the guild on the PvP server, possibly renaming it (since SoW is no longer, or keep SoW - whatever Astrus/Shaw decide), and possibly moving it to another server if people are tired of Spitscar? I would hate to see the level 11 guild to just be thrown away. There was a lot of hard work put into getting it to level 11. Or maybe give some of the Spitscar guild members access to control the guild to keep it going/growing?
I have created a cleric on Greenscale (PvE) and I've been playing around on the Defiant side. I hope some of you still frequent the forums. Hope to hear from you soon.

I have 2 quick announcements:
1. My son's (Aven) computer has crapped out. It apparently happened when you guys were in the middle of a dungeon. He's sorry! Since he is in-between jobs and getting ready to do finals in college, he's not sure when he will get back online.
2. Now that I'm retired from the military, I finally have a new job. Since I'm on salary, I have already seen a lot of lost playtime (at home and online). I'm hoping to play now and then, just not sure how often yet. Once I get the job down I should be spending less time there and more time here.

Exactly. I'm all for the PvP, I just want to make it harder to detect me so I get first strike.
The minimum name plate is 2 characters. Of course someone already took "ii" on our server, but for my cleric alt I was about to get "jj" which is just as good and when pronounced is actually a name: "Jay Jay". I pulled back on the UI view and my dwarf is very small (comes up between to about the hips of many NPCs) and "jj" IS hard to make out from a distance. This cleric should be a fun PvP toon to play once I put some time into leveling it up.
And I just noticed that Astrus already had "Sabachka (Cleric)" at the top of his list (1st post).

It is good to know that they ARE trying to fix issues brought up by the community.
My #1 fav is the pyro fix. I think I was in a WF the other day with Vertigo and he got hit by a pyro/elem for 6.5k+ in a single hit!!! When you are up against a group of them all spamming their aoe attack, you should just sit down at the respawn spot and wait for the WF to end. Just stupid how OP they are right now. I can't wait for the patch! sorry - I think this is the single most thing that ticks me off right now in the game and it really gets me going when I talk about it...

I think the intent of him not joining with his Alt named "i" is to keep his nameplate text to a bare minimum ;) making it hard to spot him via a nameplate...i.e., no red wall of text for a defiant to spot ;) But I bet there is a minimum 3 character name rule??

1. I reported the guild name as being inappropriate and I got a pretty quick reply back saying they would look into it immediately. So the guild might be renamed or disbanded.
2. I showed Sabachka some respect as I was trying to do death rift/invasion dailies and left her alone (she was engaged in mobs), but she shows no such respect and then repeated tried to gank me.
Side note: With the latest update you can now scale player names on the UI. I have made them double the size to help me tell whether it is a mob-vs-mob fighting nearby or a player-vs-mob. Yes, most players have 2 lines of text (name/guild), but sometimes for me it's not easy to tell when they are engaged in multiple mobs. And some "jerks" are not in a guild. Heck, I'm even thinking that when I create an alt, it will be the smallest dwarf possible, with only a single letter name like "i" and not have it join a guild. Try to detect me then you Defiant bastards! LOL

My main role is rogue ranger/MM for ranged dps. I just bought a new role and was looking to see if anyone had a melee dps build out there? Doesn't have to be anything fancy, just something to play around with.

I am doing Apothecary and I'm running into problems getting enough mats (foraging & butchery) to make potions. If you don't want to do any crafting that's fine. BUT please help us out that are doing it by picking up the 3 gathering skills (butchery, foraging, & mining) and email those to your guild members that are doing it or to our fearless guild leaders so they can pass them out.
Foraging and mining are the 2 toughest mats to gather as you have to find them and they are scattered about the map. Butchery is a little easier as certain mobs can be skinned after you kill them, so when you find a bunch of them you can just farm them pretty easily.
I have also gone back to the initial Silverwood starting area where you can first pick up the gathering skills and the mats respawn pretty quickly there. So if you run an alt toon or have a few minutes, please pick up mats for us crafters.

P.S. - I hope to get a list together on what potions I can make and what mats are required for them. Should be able to find them on a wiki site and will post here sometime soon. I'm more than happy to make/compensate people for mat gathering.

Hey is there a way to save your various load outs and simply 1-click swap them in and out? I've only found the 4 obvious trainers in the 3rd floor of Sanctum...
If you are talking about changing roles on the fly out in the wilderness, you can hit "P" to bring up your skills and select the "Roles" tab on the left. You can then drag and drop the different roles onto a toolbar just like a regular skill.
And yes, it does save the layout of the toolbars for each specific role.
