  1. I know the idea of the USA having a for-real militarized presence in space makes some people giggle (and other people cry) but I am super fascinated. Granted we aren't quite at the Star Wars or Star Citizen level of space travel where the average person can afford the training and equipment necessary to run their own ship. This is still pretty much a billionaire's game and a governmental endeavor. I would really like to see humans colonize other planets because I believe the universe is a gift that is intended to be marveled and enjoyed. We haven't (at least publicly) made the sort of progress I anticipated in this area but I think Space Force will inspire and encourage the next Elon Musk or Sir Richard Branson to do wonderful and amazing things.
  2. In Sci-Fi lore, any disturbance in the space-time continuum usually results in something spectacular. Apparently there was a real ripple on August 14th (although the article I read was just posted now) and 99% of Earthlings didn't notice. Where's my parallel universe or groundhog day? You can read more about S190814bv on the CBS news site. Or you can read yesterday's article on Cnet.
  3. There's no doubt that RSI & CIG have done an amazing job with Delmar and other planets/moons. Exploration is one of my favorite things to do in-game, in any game. I was looking tonight at some Mars photos and thinking how cool is it that this isn't just about pretending anymore. Humans are really exploring other planets! There is another Mars mission (it was cancelled late in 2017 but it is back "on" now) penciled in for May 2018 and I can't wait to see what great things they discover. I like to think that scifi genre contributes to scientific discovery as much as true scientific discovery fuels scifi art. I think we will see some even more amazing things in-game once the Mars knowledge filters to the game developer level.
